Electric Blue Dreami

I have come across a few common questions concerning the Quinny Dreami Carrycot and related items. As and when I see more I will add them to the list along with their brief answers or where necessary, where to find that informatiion. Hope it helps!

1. Do you need adapters for the Quinny Dreami Carrycot?

Answer -  If you have a compatible pushchair then no, all the adapters you need will be with the system, you do not need to buy anything else.

2. What prams can u use the Quinny Dreami with?

Answer – Only the Buzz and the Speedi pushchairs I’m afraid. As you will see from other posts on this site, the Buzz and Speedi form a complete travel system with the Quinny Dreami Carrycot and the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat.

3. What is the different between Quinny Dreami and Maxi Cosi?

Answer – The Quinny Dreami is the pram/carrycot component and the Maxi Cosi the car seat. Both go together with the Buzz and Speedi pushchairs to form a travel system.

4. Do I need the Dreami carrycot?

5. Should I get the carrycot when buying Quinny Buzz 4 pushchair?

Answer to both – Rather depends on your intended use I would say. Obviously the carrycot is best in the first three months as baby can lie completely flat. However, if you lifestyle is in and out of a car rather than taking baby for long walks, there is nothing wrong with just using the Maxi Cosi car seat as it has multiple positions. Personally though, if you intend to take baby for a daily walk for some fresh air (that will do you good as well!), I’d still take the Quinny Dreami as well. If it’s your first baby it’ll keep for the next or you can sell it on as the Buzz and Speedi pushchairs are quite popular.

6. Can babies sleep at night in the Dreami Buzz?

Answer – Not in the Buzz pushchair, but OK in the Quinny Dreami Carrycot for the first few months. Baby should lie flat where possible. Once they can turn, they should really be in a cot with a good safe baby mattress.

Get Yourself An All Terrain Pushchairs – Great If You Like Exercise!?

All terrain pushchairs are three-wheel pushchairs with large pneumatic tyres that are designed to be used across all kinds of terrains. Probably not around when you were a baby, they are a more recent development that works on similar principles to mountain bikes. The tyres need inflating, are chunky and give more suspension to keep baby comfortable wherever you take the buggy, pavements, beaches or fields or simply jogging.

You will find that all terrain pushchairs will have a longer wheel base and much larger wheels than a “normal” pushchair. You will of course find some that recline or that have the ability to add on a carrycot, however, baby should not be taken on too rough rides until they are at least three/four months old.

Do not assume that all three-wheelers are all terrain pushchairs. Because three-wheelers have become fashionable there are a lot more of them around but a good rule-of-thumb is whether they have large pneumatic tyres. Check the usage the manufacturer suggests to be sure.

Make sure there is a 5-point safety harness and that you have a rain cover, sun cover and travel bag. You may also like to get a foot muff and perhaps a car seat if appropriate. A wrist strap is a particularly useful addition in case you forget to put the brakes on, you inadvertently let go or they fail (the latter is unlikely but possible).

Do you really need an all terrain pushchair? If you are just getting one because they are cool but will only use it on pavements, don’t bother. They are larger to manoeuvre in and out of shops, bulkier to get in the chair and you may find you have to take the wheels off. Although the larger the wheels are the more comfortable the ride, it does make it more difficult to get in your car. You must remember to take the pump with you everywhere and a puncture repair kit.

Out n About Nipper

In summary, all terrain pushchairs offer a good option to those who wish to continue or start exercising with their baby across all surfaces. They are not ideal for town use if you are in and out of a car as they are quite bulky although easy to fold.

The best and possibly best bargains in the UK for all terrain pushchairs can be found HERE and look for the “Out n About” range.

Chicco Activity Walker Reviewed

Activity walker selections are countless. Often featuring a huge handle as well as the stable bottom, these colorful toys will be simple for children to hold onto and toddle behind.  The interactive action centre features exciting noises in addition to characters and a shape sorter. The height is suitable for toddlers and even when they are taller, the activity centre will still get used.

The Chicco Baby Steps Activity Walker helps baby to stand up and take their first steps! Music encourages your baby to walk by playing as the wheels turn. The Activity Walker is also a fun activity centre featuring lights and sounds , and even games for stationary activity to engage the senses. Taking baby steps with the walker is a wonderful way of helping your child to walk, while developing hand-eye co-ordination and motor skills.

Best used on carpet for real ‘beginners’ as the wheels may slip on a hard floor, even in locked position. The best thing however are the ‘brakes’ on the wheels. They have just enough friction to control the speed, and slow or prevent falls. With some walkers, if the child leans back or forward or back too much, the walker may either slide away or topple over.

The Chicco is an affordable and safe walker which offers all the whistles and bells your child will like. Unfortunately this walker does not fold down, but if the reviews are anything to go by that would be a waste of time anyway! Would make a great present from 9 months old or for a first birthday or Christmas. This Chicco musical activity walker is sturdy and will provide the toddler and baby plenty of stimulating activities.

Activity walkers have 2 excellent functions. Lock the wheels and your child can just play with the activity centre from sitting and enjoy all the noises and clicks, as they become ready to start to walk, they’ll simply pull themselves up. When babies learn to stroll, the activity walker becomes a walker to stable steps as well as encourages energetic play.

You need to at all times guarantee that children utilising an activity walker are effectively supervised. Parents or caregivers have to be there to make sure that babies are not injured while utilizing an baby activity walker. You should as always, check the instructions and manufacturers guidelines for use, don’t just throw them in the bin!
